Do families burst many crackers at Puthandu?
Not many. A garland at the gate and sparklers for the children is the usual. The big cracker days in Tamil Nadu are Deepavali and Karthigai.
Is the minimum the same in April?
Yes, 5,000 rupees all through the year. Outside the Deepavali rush, parcels usually arrive at the quick end of the 1 to 3 days band.
