Deepavali crackers at the Sivakasi price
In Tamil Nadu, Deepavali begins in the dark. The house is up before dawn for the oil bath, new clothes go on, a plate of sweets goes round, and the first crackers are lit at the gate while the street is still waking up.

Why crackers belong to Deepavali
That is why the state notifies a morning hour as well as an evening one. The dawn is for a garland and a few sharp sounds to announce the day. The evening is for colour: sparklers, flower pots on the street, chakkars on the floor and something saved for the sky.
What to buy
Buy for two sittings. The dawn needs one garland and a packet of sound crackers. The evening needs the bulk: sparklers in quantity, a row of flower pots, chakkars and a repeater cake to close. Sparklers are what families here wish they had bought more of.

Deepavali questions
When is Deepavali in 2026?
8 November 2026. Book early: road transport into Chennai is at its busiest in the last week, and the last order we can promise for Tamil Nadu is 3 November.
When are crackers allowed on Deepavali in Chennai?
Tamil Nadu has notified two one-hour slots, 6:00 to 7:00 AM and 7:00 to 8:00 PM on Deepavali, and certified green crackers only. The order is reissued each year, so confirm it, and check your apartment association's rule too.
How much should we budget?
That depends on the family, so there is no typical figure we can stand behind. Our combos start at the 5,000 rupees minimum, and every box shows the printed MRP beside what you actually pay.
What sells out first?
Sparklers, flower pots and gift boxes, because every household wants them. They thin out by the middle of October.
